This position is a permanent position with our client (US Based Semiconductor Product Company with revenue more than 30 Billion USD)
Principal Engineer, NAND Modeling

As a Principal Modeling Engineer , you will be a member of the managed NAND system architecture team with a focus on developing and maintaining software-based system modeling tools used to analyze and predict power and performance of future managed NAND devices. You will work closely with other system architects, as well as controller architects, firmware architects, and NAND designers to ensure that the modeling tools you own and maintain appropriately model key aspects and behaviors of future products. You will identify and root cause system performance bottlenecks and power issues and help drive innovative solutions to remove these issues.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Active participation in system architecture activities, supporting architecture work of our entire managed NAND portfolio
- Architect, design, develop, debug, document and publish improvements to power and performance modeling tools
- Build new modeling tools to analyze specific questions and architectural problems
Minimum qualifications:
- 8+ Years Experience in the Below specified areas.
- Expert level solid understanding of C++, SystemC , TLM and Python software development on a Windows platform using Visual Studio development tools
- Basic knowledge of NAND-based devices - basic understanding of overall firmware architecture (host interface, FTL, back-end)
- Strong analytical skills, applied in several areas:
- Find creative solutions to hard problems
- Decide what aspects of NAND, controller and firmware behavior should be modeled and which should be abstracted
- Interpret the output of the modeling tools to find performance bottlenecks or power issues
- Firm understanding of modern software engineering principles and the ability to apply them throughout the modeling tool lifecycle
- Capability with debugging and development tools to find, fix, and improve the tools as needed
- Strong interpersonal skills this role requires a high degree of teamwork
- Ability to work well in a truly global environment, with partners in Europe, Asia, and the US
- BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
