THE ROLE
As a Principal Software Engineer on our SAP Concur Travel Engineering team, you will develop, design and deliver services to help our business become the largest B2B cloud business on AWS. Travel Engineering develops the largest corporate travel SaaS system in the U.S. that enables employees to book travel through a web site and iOS and Android apps, while being compliant with corporate travel policies. In this role, you would develop both the existing system and an exciting next-generation travel booking system. Some of the key responsibilities include: Leading the design and delivery of new features with technical product management, executing with an enterprise cloud mindset to deliver on security, compliance, and infrastructure initiatives with engineering program management (FedRAMP, PCI, SOC1, SOC2, and more). Be able to Write and implement cross-team engineering proposals with or as part of the Area Principals group led by the CTO / Design and write services in GO, Kotlin, Java, C#, and deploy using Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, and AMI-based pipelines. You should be able to own cloud services end to end, designing distributed systems, and architecting using AWS services and best practices such as zero-downtime production deployments, canaries, frequent deployments, and feature-flag-driven development.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
BE/BTech/MCA/MS/MTech in Computer Science or equivalent from a reputed university with 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Experience architecting distributed systems with AWS services and best practices
DevOps mentality with an understanding of Continuous Delivery and observability
Self-driven and highly motivated to deliver top-tier solutions with security in mind
Can write clean and scalable code using Go, Java, Kotlin, NodeJS, JavaScript, Java, C#, Python and other modern programming languages
Experience using modern authentication and authorization technologies, such as OAuth and X.509 certificates. Expertise in building highly scalable distributed systems
Experience with Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, and a broad array of AWS primitives such as EC2, AMIs, EKS, Dynamo, Code Deploy, etc.
Familiarity with common compliance frameworks that impact software development: FedRAMP, PCI, SOC1, SOC2, and more.
Demonstrated ownership of end to end solutions from design through delivery
